Ickarus is taking drugs because he is addicted and also he believes in helps him with his music. He needs them to “feel” the beat of the music to zone in on the songs. His fans are taking the drugs for the same reason maybe a little more. They do it to fit in with the crowd, to feel the music more or just plan addiction.

The subculture that Ickarus is focuses on drugs because that’s what make the techno seen what it is. With the drugs it is hard to connect to the songs and feel the energy.

The differences with the people in this movie are, there a lot more open about EVERYTHING. They talk about their drug use and clothes are just an object to them unlike America were you will never see anyone naked in a public place.

I think it might change but it might not. Kids will be kids. The older adult population probably has down some pretty crazy stuff in their days but, all these kids will be addicted to drugs so it might change for the worse.

The big lebowski and it doesn’t compare that much. Only thing I would say is that only a certain audience will watch them both. My grandpa will not watch berlin calling and most people that will watch it or watch it religiously are people in that type of “crowd”.

I liked that film I thought it showed a good side of a sub culture in Germany. Instead of just learning about the main sub culture and think that everyone in Germany does only one thing. What jumped out at me was the talk about the drug use, how little people cared about it and that there were naked girls all over like it was a normal day.
